The Right Choice

Married & divorced twice
Looking forward to a lonely life
And unexpected internet meeting
that led to marriage after 3 weeks and 1 meeting

Our marriage was based upon religious values
All or nothing - Islamic values mean living the religion
Family oriented lifestyle, decision making together,
Stay away from what was forbidden - alcohol, gambling, pork

Prayers 5 times a day and remember to be God fearing
Fast once a year, give charity and do what was right
The basics of what we believed - and if we got this right
All would fall in place

The journey began, looking at life with a smile on our faces
Facing obstacles together, overcoming them and moving on
Helping those less fortunate, even if it meant doing without
But making sure the family had what was needed

Overcoming financial burdens, lack of support and help
Except for the support and help from each other to each other
Strengthening not only the relationship, but building the love
And cementing the trust

Life deals low blows, but as long as one is God fearing
And yet keeps the faith - nothing can stand in the way
Of a solid relationship - even with the ups and downs
Always believing things will get better

10 years on, two children later, the smiles are still here
The religious foundation is still solid and the values prevalent
Who says that people need to know the person before they meet
To ensure happiness

We dont look at life as a burden, but an opportunity
We dont see peoples needs as arbitary as we have been there
We smile, thank God for health, life and just being here
Because life is short, and complicating things makes it shorter

Remember to choose your soul mate based on solid religious values
Know that you will achieve things together even though you may change
Change with the times but remember why you got together
And communicate, laugh and make the most of life
