Do I dare ignore this beast as it speaks to me?
Do I dare ignore the orders it hisses to me?
I think not, for that would surely mean my death.
I live my life as plain as I can manage
But this beast is always commanding,
"Take your hand to his throat and squeeze until he's dead"
I don't want to live this way,
but surely He'd kill me if I tried to escape.
Either way it's a lose-lose situation on my behalf.
Either death by the beast, or death by mankind.
Author notes
►"I do not dare deny
The basic beast inside
It's right here, it's controlling my mind
And why
Do I deserve to die?
I'm dominated by
This animal that's locked up inside"

Excellent! short, to the point and in your face, I really enjoyed reading this, I agree with the previous comment on the last line - a superb closure to the poem!
Thanks so much for sharing this, and taking the time to enter my contest,
