I thought I had grown
Until my childhood just began….
with you.
in this eccentricity of adulthood
we find the profundity of bliss
painting a house with no doors
and shading it in hues of orange and green
madness, madness, utter madness!!!
just as the world around us.
we spend hours in a toy store, wandering,
if not playing and buying,
oblivious of the world... around us.
Your delight is the same
and I long for such replays,
giving you compliments with no reason,
so I can see you smile.
You’ve taken me back to 30 years or more
To that little boy who jumped over hedges
ate ice candy and lollipops,
watched the sunset
admired the nature,
mixed ketchup with everything
played snake and ladder and silly quizzes
watched nothing but cartoons,
didn’t know about anger
didn’t mind to apologize
and shared everything that was his…

Should have been a gold for we all still have thwe child within and for those who didnt have a loving childhood that child can still learn the joys of life through love and being loved by another .Great piece here

good write
i like the way you describe your childhood.some times a poem is a trip which we take to depart from here to an unknown place.

Lovely write, especially enjoyed;
"giving you compliments with no reason,
so I can see you smile."
That was just really sweet, you could imagine a child saying it / doing it, just to get the reward of a sunshine lit smile in return.
Congrats on the trophy

There's no surer way to become unhappy than to stop seeing the world with a child's eyes. How great it is to find someone you feel safe enough with to be childlike again. You captured that joy well.
Hope you're doing well these days, old friend.

Wonderful!
Dear Lencio,
What a joy to read this poem.
The delight of a child!
I love the boy who mixed ketchup with everything...
Recently, I lay on my back in the garden with a friend
and we looked up at the sky through the trees...
We all need to keep in touch with child-like wonder!
Bravo! Jane
