Forever I Will Be

Though my enemies come against me,
When attacks come night and day,
When the path before me is darkened,
God will light my way.

When fear has my body weakened,
When sorrow takes a physical toll,
As I fail in my carnal state,
God will keep my soul.

When sin has me in its grip,
Rebellion brings in me much strife,
Lost to hell is what I was,
Gods grace gave me eternal life.

When ten thousand years have passed,
And forgotten from the family tree,
I’ll still be in the arms of almighty God,
And there will I forever be.

    This is a powerful poem that really takes the idea of 'In the midst of it all He kept me.' I could feel the emotion welling up in me with each line that ended each stanza. Well done.
