I think of Requiem For A Dream when I read this stanza. [probably because I've become obsessed with that song recently

I love the connection between music and life in this stanza. How you describe it as "discordant notes". Life, indeed, is a flurry of discordance; but we can still find perfection in the ones we love. :]
