Sliding Into Eighty

Can I crack an egg in your face?
an omelet for you,
a revelation for me,
these apron strings constrict,anyway

Broken metallic strings,
the rusted window screen,
the children fighting in the backyards,
while lonely mother is passed out again

Keep my wandering attention
for just a nanosecond more,
inwardly sighing,
contemplating another few hours snore

Another tattoo,etched into cracking skin
won't it be a sight,
saggy breasts and faded wares,
if we survive this journey,
sliding into eighty

This blood howling beneath the skin,
longs for a release,
battling these addictions,
needles,shrewdly hidden bottles of woe

Somebody else, please assume control,
for I feel a crushing wall of defeat,
brick by brick,crumbling to pieces
while sitting here, through impenetrable gloat
