dancing leaf to blush, cracking limb,
this orb of universe embracing skin,
these first rain swells,
growing close to winter?
I would have stayed much longer, with you,
inside your whispered path of hunger,
forever blowing younger tones,
carving smile of ancient pipe
in seasoned mist, within my melting meadow,
grassland exhaling dream to moistened lips,
love's fragmented notes
ripening quaver,
and soul to savor such a garden
primed in scented, aging apple,
fermenting air;
and then to drop,
as solitary pebble,
rippled round to circled ending,
ever outward, seeking earth,
to hold forever
in the harvest moonlight.

I don't know of a single soul that could resist the lingering allure of this endearing, enchanting song, my Friend. Completely tender & beautiful. Only a sacred Scribe could sing like this. You truly are a Gift to us, you know. Maybe you don't. But you are.
Good luck in Lynda's contest, Sweetie.
