within splintered ribcages
and enraged lungs collapse,
crushed to death
by their own iron fists.

steely gazes
turn hearts to stone;
betrayal's acid-reflux
mixes with concrete
and love like blood
deteriorates.

Diamonds under moonlight,
tears sparkle upon cheeks
of a lover I will never be.
