Facing The Unknown

Endless days stretch before me
waiting for my feet
to bravely traverse their
unknown paths.

Held in the comforting grasp of time
I stand tall in the face of forever
watching hazey golden dreams
dance around the doorway's crown.

Whispered voices beckon, enchantment awaits
and my heart bursts free of chains
I step through,
closing yesterday's door behind me.

    Hello.

    Your write is descriptive, nice blend of imagery and diction. Although I can understand facing the unknown with faith within, I also have to say, I find it illogical (as does Mr.Spock, hahah), of being afraid of the unknown. Anyway your write also suggests an understanding that fear in all its form is from the flesh/ego due to their finite nature, where as the soul is eternal. It also reads of leaving the past where it is. I wish you well in the contest. A good write.

    I believe that if we can face the unknown, then we can face just about anything which arises... perhaps, yes... by doing just that; Facing the Unknown with a trust in ourselves and that what's meant for us will come about.
