Understanding

Great Father we come to you in both love and shame,
we have divided like the river to go separate ways.
This is not the path that our hearts wish to take,
but pride, we are unable to set to one side.

We wish for things to go each of our ways only
without thought of the other's path.
Please, Great Father, show us,
how to balance ourselves without losing our love.

My children, The People's way is that of love,
understanding and working together in harmony.
Looking into each other's heart and taking the time
to hear each other's words.  This is the way.

Great Father, we came to you in pain and in shame,
now you send us back to work together in harmony.
Guide us as we go on this path
in search of the wonderous things within.
Things that can only be found when
we share our hearts once again.

Simple and somehow haunting too, like an echo through the ages and timeless to go on and on.

    AHO!

No prayer or poem is as powerful as the one written with a humble heart, such as this one. My heart fills with love for your gift to all here.
