The Garden Well

THE GARDEN WELL

In the garden was a wishing well,
I had been feeling rather blue.
Out popped a wee little gnome,
said I'll make you feel brand new.

All you need do is toss a coin,
your three wishes will come true.
No matter how big or how small,
I will grant your wishes for you.

I thought a minute, made a wish,
then waited for it to come true.
Wishing for a love of my own,
my mind had a vision of you.

Thoughts of you running rampant,
I wished for my heart's desire.
Tall, handsome brown eyed man,
someone to set my soul on fire.

Soon I met this wonderful man,
he really got under my skin.
He melted my heart with a smile,
leading me down a path of sin.

Then the wee gnome disappeared,
so I went over to the well.
Out came the long arm of Satan,
pulled me into a fiery hell.

So next time you see a we gnome,
just smile and say no thank you.
Tell him to shove his three wishes,
then gently squish him with your shoe.

Nicely done, the reader is caught in the wishing, giving, sinning to find Satan's grant to capture a soul. Great ending, lots of humor and smiles here.
Rhyme is done so well to build and smoothly move the quatrain.
