Warm ocean breeze tastes of summer's heat
Waves of silver light swirl about my feet
sandpipers and seashells scattered randomly
this perfect night-just the moon and me
By the edge of the sea, staring afar
my gaze ever seeking the eastern star
to carry a prayer for the coming day
for loved ones near and far away
Pressing my feet deep in sand
closing my eyes, raising my hands
becoming a part of earth and sea
one with the moon, the stars-so free
my breath now the wind
my thoughts silver light
carried by eternity
on wings of night...
Author notes
the full moon and the sea...irresistible to my soul...

Wonderous
I feel as though I've just returned from the shore and the moonlight. I am uplifted with wonder renewed.
My hat is tipped to thee.

Thanks so much for your supportive comment. I appreciate the read and am glad you were able to 'feel' the images. All a poet can ask. Peace, Rhonda

This is so beautiful! It gets top billing from me because I love the ocean, I live near it and poetry about it speaks to my heart. You are so good at imagery that I get lost in your work.
Love,
Amera♥

... yes, perhaps because:
they are your soul
moving and yearning,
facing and reflecting.
Feet in the earth
hands stretched to heaven
all sounds much like each 'part' seeking completion in return to its real place and all being aspects of one heart, one soul.
'Search for the means that will bring you to Me.'
Lovely write my sister!

'each part seeking completion in returning to its real place'...I can feel it, Sol, but you write it so much more perfectly than I...thank you

my breath now the wind...What a gorgeous line!
I love the sea too...makes me feel so small and so large at the same time...and definitely at home, enveloped, safe...I could go on.
This is beautiful.

it is the fall of words from the sky..and the sky is situated on the Earth..and the Earth is situated at the heart..and that heart belongs to the poet...
