Cicadas both fried and baked , steaming on my toes,
in my mouth a plastic waterfall and a curdled bloody rose.
Icicles with runny noses dripping on my plate,
mixed with screaming langoustines, flown in from Kuwait.
Decanters full of liquid toenails, swirl around my glass,
topped with orange pavements, made from solid brass.
For dessert, a singing waffle, dancing pirouettes,
with a strangely coloured space ship, I think its Boba Fetts.
To top it off migrated cheese ,with a dead mouse in a trap,
accompanied by funereal songs, sung by Spinal Tap.
The waiter walking in on stilts gives us all a thrill,
then with panache and eloquence presents me with the bill..

I really like the Boba Fett and Spinal Tap references in this poem! I think you did very well to make this rhyme and flow so well with such an odd theme
although unfortunately it reminds me of a dinner I had to go to recently
there were a couple of places where the spaces around the commas were a little off, and I would suggest editing them - but overall this was a very enjoyable poem!
Keep writing

Well it was certainly different, and yet even though I didn't understand it I wanted to read it again, it has a certain diverse quality about it well done, and good luck

although i didn't understand the contest, this is amazing use of word and imagery! i like it because it's intricate. The images evoked were so real i actually felt a little queasy(icicles with runny noses, liquid toenails! YUCK! and cicadas in any form SHUDDER) this was a beautiful thing to behold!!Good luck
