Life Flows

Not Me speaks ardently
Live water soothes the pain
Life flows abundantly

Then love comes forcefully
Our hearts can feel the strain
Not Me speaks ardently

We tiptoe carefully
Across demon domain
Life flows abundantly

We talk so tenderly
Feel sorrow's cleansing rain
Not Me speaks ardently

We labor selflessly
To cover steep terrain
Life flows abundantly

We climb successfully
The light begins to wane
Not Me leaves silently
Life flows abundantly

I don't know if my interpretation is faithful to your intention, but to me this verse speaks of the journey of the ego (not-me how you call it), from believing to be a warrior until the final giving up of the war (the quest) and laying down of the weapon of pride, letting divine will do its job without resisting ...

I very much enjoyed this poem ...

This was a more consistent villanelle than your other offering, although I did notice that was an acrostic also. I liked the personification of "Not Me". It reminded me of the Family Circus cartoon. Thank you for your entry. Peace, Liz

This is truly a wonderful Villanelle with insight and emotion. It's difficult to compose a poem like this with only six syllables to a line but you made it look easy. I love you intentionally broke the form rules in the ending couplet to add the personal flavor. You used your poetic license to a wonderful advantage.

    Love,
    Amera♥
