The darkness spreads and hidden shadows creep
Claws of darkness reach back through endless time
Into the body the black sorrow seeps
Feeling of despair uniquely sublime.
Whispered words, desperately spoken
But who can hear them? Too far from home
Deep in the soul, darkness awoken
Urgent fervor flows in the blood, doomed to roam.
Exploring the night, consumed by the endless black
This is mine, and here I stay forever more
Caught by the seductive feeling of despair, no going back
Drowning in darkness is what I love and abhor.
Treading the path into the entrancing darkness
Blatantly ignoring the desperately pleading light
Every breath is tasting the hatred and sharpness
Pulled in and ensnared by my love for the dark night.

Something we all have to be very careful of is being taken to the deep extremes. It's something I try to stay clear of myself. Good poem.
