Voice Of Our Nation

Abuse of our nation takes a lot of patience to uphold,
so let us all unite and relight the flame of love. It's
our birthright, so give blame a rest and invest in one
and all. Oh we gotta keep moving like ordinary happy
people, doing extraordinary deeds in a world we used to
all hold dear till the tides of change had us in tears,
had us living in fear due to a lack of knowledge in
ancient teachings, had us growing old before we could
address this defamatory dialogue written so long ago.

Oh its unsatisfactory how we allow factories to churn
out weapons of mass destruction, giving such rise to
instability in regions from the east, alas we who are
underdogs will not be sold to ideas to earn our respect.
And so in that aspect, our weaponry should only be used
in the name of peace, a mammoth task on any Sabbath, for
those who manifest such egotistic views will only stomach
what’s told them. Bold as we are, these extremist are
bolder still, driving us to fold under their push for power

So we shall take our willpower to jihad to slow
their progress and throw duress their way, giving our
comrades a headache in progress, going mad before we can
appease a malice we could not see. So born from the fires
of hell, torn from the pages of old. So easy now for us
to be told how cold our minds could be, a measly sum of
thought to digest as its best we be taught vigilance in
the face of fear, taking our intelligence to a whole new
level, making well of our place in this maze of medieval
nohow. So will we now be well placed to finance our case
in civil obedience and finally face our coming of age.
As we will all come to know, it's not what we used to see,
it's not what we used to hear, but it's what will be our
final race if we don’t make it to our base

Oh we are the voice of our nation, voice of our nation,
heroes to our situation, coming together for the good
of our generation, spreading the love in stereo for one
and all. Oh father and son, mother and daughter, we are
the voice of our nation, rising up to the challenge,
an avalanche of tolerance no more for we shall not be
defeated. Oh we are the voice of our nation, voice of
our nation, glowing with sensation, flowing with such
anticipation. No complications, only the will to grow
as a nation, standing tall and proud in the face of
adversity, spreading the love universally so

Growing old before our time, sold into oblivion to
deliver us from rivers of acid rain, looking for
reasons to wane our mortal civilians to a lonely fate
on the back of a phoney tranquillity, a utility gone
to surf, a selfish sell to sedate a worthy course, to
enforce one and all to endure the pain of regret. So
get on a roll and soar to the sky’s, for like Siamese
twins going for the pinnacle of their togetherness,
cop it on the chin as more and more, you will see it’s
a fine line between love and hate, and as fate would
have it, we are the champions of the world

So bring out the champagne as we are in the main game,
knowing how, knowing why, knowing where. Oh yeah,
it's all in our sights, so lighten up, feel the love brighten
up your day. From north to south, east to west, it's our
might that will bite where it counts, our might and
their light. For this much is feasible as karma rings
home the painful truth, lending our farmers a helping
hand, sending ripples to the core of our strife. Oh yeah,
like a knife in our back, a wife on our backs, it's our
life, our fight over rights, so turn on the lights and
let us be awakened, let us not be forsaken, for whatever
will become of our bacon as its taken us awhile waiting
for the moment to arrive

Depriving us our innocence, denying us our vigilance.
Oh yeah, I say it like it is, so bring commonsense to the
fore and throw caution to the wind. Know what will be
as we all come to know, it's not what we used to see,
it's not what we used to hear, but it's what will be our
final race if we don’t make it to our base. Oh we are the
voice of our nation, voice of our nation

We can all shed a tear for days gone by, fading dreams
so it seems, laying bare what our eyes have seen, saying
what we dare to test our best request, a quest to rally
the common people. Putting fear to rest as knowledge is
power to the masses, maximised to a college degree,
giving one and all a chance to plant a new tree of hope
as living free is better for the good of all

Now it seems living free don’t make no sense to those
would be kings who fly on the wings of a new fear,
expecting the rest of us to respect their melancholy ways,
bringing the holy land to the edge of insanity, pledging a
solemn oath to citizens above to inflame and outrage
those they believe less worthy

No relief in sight as an atrocious inferno tears away at the
very core of their harmonious ways, giving rise to atrocity
after atrocity as village after village is pillaged and burned
to cinder, turning infidel against zealot, brother against
brother, sister against sister, a process tainted in blood,
an overdose of pure indulgence in sheer terror

Now I say to those who pose no threat, don’t dread what’s
known, push on and purge this hideous vermin from our
shores, surge forth and plunder wayward pilgrims for its
time to merge as one and show this ungainly fear as it rears
its ugly head, no mercy for the brothers who slew there

NO MERCY!, no mercy I say to this lowlife foe disguised
as a worthy puritan. So dare we rest and caress our
blooded wounds. Oh mister Taliban holy man, dare we
give him his daily bread and regret his spread of evil,
his uncivil and fanatical bloodbath that we need like a
bullet in the head, his masochist dreams to bleed

Oh those terrorist, specialist in classical fanaticism,
sending out secret messages to salvage their heritage,
showing cause for courage to laws of Allah. Don’t they
know telling lies will only get them fried. Oh yeah, their
downfall will put them in their own hellhole, our turmoil
will only snowball if we are merciful for as we will all
come to know, it's not what we used to see, it's not what
we used to hear, but its what will be our final race if we
don’t make it to our base

Oh mother and father, why are you crying?, why cant I
feel my feet?, why must I repeat myself every time I
speak? Oh so much to fear as much is leaked by misgiving,
such is our situation in this relevance, drastic lies
and measures to context our tranquil continuity. So is
it any wonder we cried when they tried to reach us,
teach us their kind of justice on a scale unforseen

To terrorise and be the bearer of oh so much fear, to
never bare witness to a sickness as such would be a
godsend, a deliverance from fear. So now isn’t it any
wonder we are how we are, making it all seem an
impossible dream, is this who we are meant to be?

Like hell I say, for I say to you all, don’t be a sell out,
be responsible for the good of one and all. For there’s
not a moment to lose, not a moment to choose, as this
is our moment of glory. So rise to the occasion, propel
us high and mighty, repel our invaders of harmony

Be a rebel making trouble like a blizzard baring down,
driving those evil wizards into the sea of regret, ample
countries sending their soldiers off to war, it’s the
beginning of anarchy to those who wish to fish in peace

So fall down on your knees and please follow my lead,
get out of your cage and look what’s on the front page.
For in this day and age when terror rules the air waves,
we have our heroes to save us in our hour of need.
So don’t be a stool you fool, get out of your cage and
wage war against those who would undermine your ability
to be kind to your fellow man, woman and child

Never give history a miss as freedom comes at a price,
so rise on up, hold the cup of victory for life is short.
To one and all, I say to you now, be free, live free, give
your labour to others who are less able. Be lovable to
your neighbour, flexible when they need you most

Love yourself as others love you too, for those who dare
to share their love know, inner strength comes from
how we relate to one another as we will all come to
know, it's not what we used to see, it's not what we
used to hear, but it's what will be our final race if we
don’t make it to our base. Oh we are the voice of our
nation, yes we are the voice of our nation

Author notes

Inspired by the war on terror, and dedicated to the men and women
fighting the terrorist on their turf. Note: I wrote this while incarcerated,
so I guess I had a lot of time on my hands. LOL!

I asked for a story with a beginning, middle and end - and you gave me a speech. There is no story here, at all. cq

Indeed, this is a great speech; while I was looking more for poetry, I do have to applaud how well-thought-out and methodical your execution was. Well done, & thanks for entering.

    Such an awesome write here

Indeed we have chosen the path and watched it chip away at the love about us so now today we must joi hands and know all countries fall from distrust and greed so lets show them the love is stronger that the greed and make this world bloom once again . The teachers in this generations has seen not their children beneath them for they over the years felt only their own self need and now as their children has become teenagers lost and fighting and feeling they are unloved by all just because their teachers were never there for them lets embrace those children and let them see our love is their reach out to me and we shall fly

Well, it was certainly passionate, and the message was strong. (Forgive my bias, but I couldn't help but thinking you were a little misguided!) Ah! But regardless, you put a lot of effort into this and it shows!

    Interesting .

Interesting take on the effects of war and the need for peace. A little long and repeatetive for my taste. You pen some very well thought out ideas. However they some times get lost in the long run. I particularely liked the idea of loveing others and trying to do unto them what you would wish done unto you. Your wish for the ending of war came out in this piece well also. As I stated this was quite interesting. I wish you well in the contest.
