Coming Home

-
I'm watching as a moment slips into a day.
As every second slowly slips away.
And I'm forever waiting, still laying here.
My thoughts fraying as I quietly fear.

Fear you have found someone new.
Fear you'll wake up and see I don't deserve you.
Maybe you'll get lost on the lonely highway?
Or see something and stop, pick up a stray.

All I have is a phone call and a distant 'I love you.'
Like raindrops on the window, I'm always falling for you.
Waiting curled in my blanket missing your touch.
God, its so lonely, I miss you so much.

And at the end of the day, as I lay wondering.
You'll walk through that door as I stumble, blundering.
Wanting to hold you, to never feel so very alone.
Because another day's past, and you've come home.

Just something I put together while waiting for him to come home.
