my head flops from one side to the other
with boredom and exhaustion.
I would like to get up and leave
but I've given it my full attention
to stay here until my friend comes by to pick me up.
Yes, it's almost dark out.
And, yes, I'm extremely tired. But I can push past it.
I'll have a second wind in a second or two.
Or if my cat doesn't make me explode with anger
I'll be fine for the night,
because he lays his twenty pound fat butt right on my hand,
when I'm trying to move the mouse across the pad.
His long fluffy fur gets caught in my fingers
and I sigh with impatience.
I would push him off the desk altogether,
but it could not possibly go without any repercussions
from all the other junk on this crowded desk top.
I would be oh so much happier if I could come up with some fancy words
to form some fancy sentences to create a fancy poem.
And blow my judges away.
Author notes
I don't expect you to take this poem all too seriously. It's not at all good. But if you critique it I would be glad to take it and work on this some more.
and please, don't ask me about the title, I suck at coming up with titles. haha.
