Missing From the Side
Trials further ahead
Cloud the blessings belied
As once held close
Now missing from the side
To lose one of family
Is devastating indeed
But do not push away
When you are clearly in need
Pray this not be the end
Only parting for a while
Until strength is restored
And ended is this trial
My heart is heavy
And my mind drawn
But still I remain
For the coming dawn
Day after day
Longing to hear your voice
To gaze into your eyes
And scream in rejoice
You are my love
My world and my life
And so I feel your pain
Your struggles and strife
This cannot be changed
I am bound to your heart
Wounded by this distance
Keeping us apart
But reaching out for hope
Is all that can be done
Imminent as the dawn
And the golden rising sun
Steadfast I shall hold my ground
Never to run or hide
Keeping vigil though your gone
Missing from the side

Hmm'.. I think I've only read the first three poems in this series of your's, hon'. I'll have to go back and read the others.

And, as I told you the other day, I hope things will get better for you soon, darling.
I know it's hard, but you're a beautifully strong person. You'll be able to pull through this. ♥

I'm trying to figure out what exactly missing from the side means- I suppose it could mean so many things which makes the poem interesting since I want to reread it and see if there is anything I looked over or missed. Nice write.

This woman I love is gone from my life and no longer at my side. Hence the title 'missing from the side'.

Yes, I figured that. I was just thinking about how it kinda would work for anyone, even if it wasn't in a romantic situation.

I do see how you could draw a connection here from something romantic to bonds of love in different ways. This could work for siblings, best friends, parent and child ... I suppose the list is endless.
