I walked down the hall
Searching, searching
For answers to life's questions
The first door I came upon was labeled 'Religion'
And I gladly entered, curiosity getting the best of me
Inside, there was nothing but a great vaulted ceiling
And rows upon rows of books
A church pew, a crucifix, a table with incense
A buddha, a Torah,A Bible, a Q'uran a star of David, all together
I pondered at what this could mean, as I exited the room
And returned to the hall, walking further and further
Until I came upon the next door, which was unlabeled
I opened it up and stepped inside
And there, I found pictures from life
From childhood up until adulthood
And there I was on my dying bed
Searching for salvation
Taken aback, I took two steps back
Then quickly left the room, continuing on my pursuit
I knew I had come to search for something more
Something deeper
I searched and I searched
Through 'Hope', 'Fear', and 'Wisdom'
I glanced through 'Pain' and 'Trust'
I carefully dissected my way through 'Memory'
And I just couldn't find it!
I searched for 'Love'
And I couldn't find it
I searched for 'Love'
And it fled my pursuit
Hiding so deftly and keeping away
So my heart
Could never
Be content

A good piece. Relgion we all seem to come about to question at some point and that's a good thing. How can we believe what we do not explore. Nicely done
