Dark hell of minds illusions, in manic downward flight,
the touch of dread reality ,will meet with her this night.
A tiny thought with beating heart, she hears with quickening breath,
This vistor unwelcome, portends her mindless death.
She screams in knowing torment, pleading for release,
Her final prayer, with sobbing heart, God let this torture cease.
Closer ever closer, loud beating moves to kill,
unwavering, determined, its errand to fulfil.
Her mind recoils in agony, as she feels its ice cold touch,
her saviour with its blessed release, lies within her clutch.
She laughs in mock defiance, at the demon in her mind,
delusion and her mortal self now fatally entwined.
Her soul in mirrored scornful jest, stands rocking on the shelf,
With a whispered sigh it speaks to her .. Your demon is yourself ..
