a decision unmade

i asked you for time
to be sure within myself
that this decision we make
doesn't one day turn into regret

i'm searching deep
every day i take another step
my heart goes back and forward
but i have to be certain

there is so much to consider
not just ourselves but our families
its not an easy decision to make
our choices affect so many

i'm so conflicted
confusion clouds my judgement
the storm rages inside me
and my tears fall unseen

i hate this waiting
this longing that fills me
the ache that resides within my heart
each time i think of you

i want to run into your arms
to feel your embraces surround me
feel the warmth from your chest
and taste the sweet nectar of your lips

can we do this without undue hurt
find a way to existed in harmony
with not just ourselves in mind
but that of our different worlds
