Ruffled feathers stay
still above the river bridge,
a balancing act.
Waiting for a sign
of the now passing by meal,
tensing for the start.
Singing victory,
swoops down to rushing water
to chase its breakfast.
Author notes
Whenever we go to school, there is this Kingfisher that sits on the telephone wire above a bridge that is over a river. It waits there every day, it is an amazing site.

Very good fine imagery. I like the first hiaku the best
it was well tied together with the last line about a balancing act that was clever

Very well done. I could just see it waiting. Good luck. Rose
