Muse Holiday

I know that you begged me to stay,
but I'm in dire need of a holiday,
a whimsical jaunt to a far away place,
even a muse needs some time and space
to recharge and refresh their senses,
if I stay it'll just get more expensive.
You know you can ill afford
a total collapse of your motherboard,
depleting your creative energies
will do nothing to enhance memories.
So, just let me swim and sing and dance,
leave myself open for a little romance.
When I return you'll be able to smile.
I just need to escape for a little while.

    Everybody needs a holiday

When we consider that our inspiration comes from life, it makes sense that we have to stop writing once in a while to experience it. I like your couplets, and the ideas flow very well. Congratulations for your trophy.

    Congrats for the trophy ...

and I enjoyed the idea and your poem. I'm more addicted to going on holiday(s) then musing but when I can't go, well .... I muse! jy

My muse went on holiday ... actually it quit. Have you seen the movie, "The Muse? cute kind of ... seems it's if you think you have a muse then it works.

Very appealing! Lovely word choices, "dire need" and "whimsical jaunt." Touching "even a muse needs some time and space!" Faintly threatening "you can ill afford a total collapse of your motherboard."
Reassuring "WHEN I return..." An enjoyable write. You pull all the reader's sympathies to the weary muse!
    Thank you for your entry!
