I see the magnificence of the land
So much beauty, but it pales
To the one with whom my future was planned.
I was self-centered and vain,
Neglecting her when she needed me most.
Now, in exile like Cain;
My arrogance I had misdiagnosed.
Author notes
This is a verse prompt, I'm looking for your feelings.
Looking for poems between 8 and 12 lines if you want to place.
Be kind to others and comment if you can.
Most of all have fun and enjoy.
Here is the verse: Bob Dylan Song
There's beauty in that silver singing river
There's beauty in that rainbow in the sky
But none of these, and nothing else can match the beauty
That I remember in my own true loves eyes
Yes and only if my own true love was waiting
If I could hear her heart a softly pounding
Yes and only if she was lying by me
The I'd lie in my bed, once again
