Bean Pod Poetry

Because I beat
Because
The self destructiveness
Agitates

It’s for Father
It’s for Mother
And every other lovers
Graveyard

O God I burn
O god I’m learning
I fear there’s nothing
Here or there

And I yearn
I crave so much it hurts
Even if it’s flames
I can awaken

There’s not much
There’s not much
That’s left
Not much to fear

Love maybe
Yes
Maybe love
And love me not

Love a shell
With a pocket full of pennies
For liquor
& quarters
For our last supper

    lets eat

I like Sprite's comments about your poem, and I too stopped to think on that same stanza...

her thought's on this metaphor, the flames, are interesting. The burning. There is something consuming about that, and having touched all that you have...is there anything left? Feed the flames and let me live, one more flash over my soul and bring the core of me to crimson red... a purity only gold knows.

If I love you, I will burn you too; perhaps our embers will rise in the Phoenix's rebirth

Hi there. Saw a comment on ArtFullyMe's poetry and thought that I would stop by. You always write such beautifully thought provoking poems. "Even if it is flames I awaken" is a terrific line. We can fall into enui, depression, stupor, whatever...and feeling ANYTHING would be an improvement over those. I love the last stanza. Very creative. Good to read here again. ~ Joyce

I like the way each stanza can stand alone, yet the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

I've missed the way you play with words, the 'song' that is always in your work.. as well as the message..

that first stanza the double because and the subtle play of that against the sound in 'destructiveness'

and the title alone makes me stop and think..
    but ah it's that end..
that makes me say...yes...... I know that
