Wasn't the way you looked at me
Or even the way you laughed
But the heart in your broad chest
The way you whispered in my ear
Your warm breath on my neck
I forget all the ways
You could hurt me
And bask in what is next
Maybe it was the talk of rings
Or how our babies will look
What you don't know is
How much I shook before
You made love to me
That night in the rain
Or how much it hurts
When I can't hear you say my name
Oh, the life we could have
On a front porch
Dreams
Hand in hand
Oh, what I'd give
To have you so close to my heart again.

A very sad write, but also very good. :]
"I forget all the ways
You could hurt me
And bask in what is next"
I like this. Indeed, we become lost in the up-drift of love masked with passion and forget all common sense. We don't want to see what's wrong with the person we're so in love with...
"Oh, the life we could have
On a front porch
Dreams
Hand in hand"
This part makes me smile even though its undertone is quite saddening. It makes me feel at peace knowing that one day, that will come to all of us who open our eyes and hearts to love. ^_^ Great write. Thanks for entering.
