In a mystic world of eternal life, the muses at their play,
From a well of thought, inspiration flows, an artistic, rich bouquet.
Calliope, Erato,Euterpe and Thalia,
Robed in poetic spleandour, with rhymed regalia.
Mount Helicon their realm of play, their stories to unfold,
created by winged Pegasus, with hooves of flashing gold.
Sometimes they deign to visit us,and touch our minds with sight,
To carry us to places,we visit with delight.
Four sisters blessed with wondrous gifts,I thank them oh so much,
I sometimes feel a need to write, inspired by their touch..

I just wanted to stop by once more to let you know I really appreciated the background research and thought you put into this piece, as well as the lovely rhyming. Thanks so much for a wonderful entry

Lovely portrayal of not only the Muses, but their origin and individual independence from mortal ties. Indeed, perhaps better to rejoice that they "deign to visit us" at all!
Excellent rhyming and interesting meter choices, the last half+ in iambic, mingling with anapests in the first few lines.
Very nice "from a well of thought, inspiration flows." Enjoyable imagery.
Thank you for this entry!
