Gazing down I watch
him fall,
his outstretched arm
pleading
[hopelessly]
Confused stare plagues
his distraught face;
his eyes bore
into mine,
I start
{shivering}
I begged him to walk beside me,
but he refused to take the stairs;
trembling violently
~with fear~
Pity surrounded me
and stole all emotion.
Only by pushing him down
will he rise
to where he longs to be.
I will see him again,
and we can share the stars.

Not bad. This is interesting... push him down... like that. Creative. All in all I like it. Thanks for joining the contest. Good luck

Interesting take on the prompt... I really enjoyed reading this... I like the story you've managed to weave and I think this is an excellent penning...
