Ticklish footsteps upon the leaves
Gentle daydreams such are these
Visions of a green eyed lady amongst the trees
I walk
Feet heavy from sitting in class
Wandering sleepily through the park
The dark moth flying low over the pond
Fears the longing of the lurking bass
I stop
Deep into the woods I've come
Too far for most
Too close for some
To the egde of the lily littered pond
Spidersilk breathing across my neck
I drop my books and turn to check
nothing there
Laying back upon the grass
I sigh and read and gently pass
minutes into hours
Reading the pages marked as history's glass
mirror
A whisper climbs up my neck
Through my hair
Across my cheek
And into my ear
I shudder
and look up
Invisible pebbles upon the pond
Like rose petals tasting the end of air
Water's border bends with the mark of toes
My books forgotten at the sight of footprints upon the pond
eerie ripples chasing the shore
As if the wind were to walk just so
I watch the footprints continue on and go
From water to land
My breath hiding deep within my lungs
This fear I know and understand
My eyes my mind I do expect
To see and be shown
And such is my pride, this thin veneer
Torn apart by this haunting whisper
in my ear
So you are the boy who dreams of me at night...

this was pretty cute, and excellent imagery..

Outstanding imagery and a tale well told. Very soft and eerie fantasy images. The structure is also very unique and fits well. Thanks for your entry and good luck.
