Protect And Respect

Missing image
Search the heavens with wide eyed wonder,
see distant flashes, hear rolling thunder.
Spirits remain restless, pressence is known,
mid silence of prairie, we're never alone.

Guide us old wise ones, let stars be our guide,
let our thoughts go far, on the wind take a ride.
Shall I dance till the rain fills valleys below,
let it fall upon crops so we reap what we sow.

Wrap Earth in warmth each changing season,
show how ancient beliefs give our lives reason.
Follow native ways and protect Mother Earth,
give her all the respect she is truly worth.

Let our old teachings never fall on deaf ears,
feel the earth move when the spirit appears.
Master of universe as far as the eye can see,
God so loves and protects His native family.

    Excellent

Aye, 'tis a fine write, indeed. Imagery, rythem and rhyme are just fine. I don't know if you've reviewed "Tree Thoughts", which I wrote some time ago, if not I'm interested in your comments. Here's a link to it: http://allpoetry.com/poem/2287095

The beauty of this work of art

Is priceless and worthy of being read many times. It soothes the heart of those who think back to when the land was fresh and untouched. History did many un-lind things to this land and we have much regret to share. May we one day all learn to live as one on this land and all other lands that God has made...mac
