I don't want to wait for you anymore
There's a monster in me
and she's stronger than she was before
She has to have you
Cost what it may cost
Don't know if you should feed it
Maybe all is lost
Catch me in your web
I don't want to dream about you anymore
Love starts selfless
but when unanswered drains your brain of blood
I had to have you
and so I came to see
I can become what
I never wanted to be
Able to put my happiness in your hands
You're onto me like the sea washing away the sand
I never thought I was able to depend
and I still don't know if I am
Catch me in your web
I don't wanna play these games anymore
I'll give it all up
Probably just to look a fool some more
But I have to have you
and all I can do is pray
That you only
have good intentions with me
I never was a reckless lover
I never let go of the reigns
But I was bound to discover
what I found in your face
I am
Able to put my happiness in your hands
You're onto me like the sea washing away the sand
I never thought I was able to depend
and I still don't know if I am
but I'll take my chances
so catch me
Author notes
Very personal song about not being able to fall in love for a very long time, out of fear of losing control over my own happiness - then falling in love hard and fast. Going against every principle I had, but my principles also blocked all the possibilities of romance. Part of falling in love is taking risks and taking that leap and this song is about struggling with hostile feelings towards love and at the same time loving someone so deeply. Just praying for them to catch you while you're falling.
