Smoothing out potholes, jump over pits.
roadblock to true happiness never quits.
Each time I stumble and fall on my face,
I pick myself up and get back into place.
Love waits around corners, so I press on,
sadness of broken heart, now be gone!!
Done feeling useless and so unwanted,
no more feel overwhelmed and daunted.
No love found for me in the arms I adore,
no looking back when I close this door.
Sometimes patches don't hold, they break,
torn to shreds on highway of heartache.
The road less traveled will be a lonely one,
where will it lead when my journey is done?
Will I stand alone when search is through,
or finally be able to forget about you?
Author notes
Inspired by something a friend told me today in conversation. Thank you for caring my friend.
"The same destination for all. The path is different with potholes left in each road. Smile as we pass over the bumps and hug those friends and loved ones at the stops we make."
