Dark hands grasped my heart
And I remember you were the one
To release my deathly bonds
And you were all i ever wanted
I remember the day you were mine
Then the day you left me for her
I remember when you were almost in my reach
And you picked the other choice

Hurt another so I could have you
Once more as only mine
But I was mistaken
And I was broken

I don't regret loving you
But I can't forget the pain

I have never been intimidated by someone, i'm not the type but there are 2 people, 2 people, that upsets me to the point where it makes me shake and it because they are a symbol of heartbreak for me they threaten taking the one person i truly love more than a friend

This is a good poem but I am not sure how this fits this contest. I want poems about people in your life who have lifted you up and given you hope, not those who have hurt you. If you can explain and make me understand how this fits I will keep it. Otherwise I will have to remove it. Sorry about that, but maybe you could enter something else. Thanks, Patty
