she's itching inside
as she looks at her journal
the one with all those remnants of what was
so childish in design
with the flight of Superwoman grazing the cover
this book, this story
the one who survived through many falls
stains of the past still linger on its pages
but fear keeps it shut
as she remembers what those pages once held
what they keep alive in her mind
just how much she grew that year
someone so young shouldn't know so much...
those pages tell the tale of a childhood robbed
a little girl who had no choice but to grow up
how could one book hold so much power?
for when its held in her hands
the emotions pour out and tears flow like rivers
but imagening how she survived
makes it all the better
is it too late for her to go back?
but she knows that only pain can come from that road
as the redemption song she sings today
cannot finish with a relapse of her acts
she has to leave the past where it belongs
and keep going to where she wants to go
for soon enough it'll be her turn to make decisions
and she'll have to make them fast
because if she doesn't
it all might slip away once more
she's itching inside
as she looks at her journal
the one with all those remnants of what was
so childish in design
with the flight of Superwoman grazing the cover
this book, this story
the one who survived through many falls
the one she must leave behind for good

I loved how you enveloped the poem in the nice memories of childhood and "so childish in design
with the flight of Superwoman grazing the cover" and then placed the sad truth in the middle. It created a barrier within the poem, which I guess the character is trying to live with. It was a powerful and emotional write.
Thanks for entering. -
