Poinsettia flashing through ivory snow
Cutting the wind as it blows by
Snow White's lips as the prince kneels
The shade of your anger as you threaten
To explode.
The juice that splashes in your cup
Dangerously close to spilling level
The sky as the sun's half set
Buttering over the usual set with
Liquid fire.
Sweet corn as juice drips down your chin
The farmer's bowing grain seas
The rubber duck that now bobs
In your grandchild's bathtub
That once belonged in yours.
Your backyard when spring showers came
The sour apple before skin is cut
The little leprechauns that dance
Round the pot of gold
At the end of personal rainbows.
The pale color of the waterfall's spray
Flying into cornflower heavens
Where stellar jays fly, reflected
In your own
Mirror eyes.
Sunset just before gold chariot descends,
One of the morning glory flowers
That climb your white trellis
Blackberry juice that, if spilled
Stains like the wine you drowned in
Last night.
Author notes
In accordance to the rules: "No animals were harmed in the making of this poem."
Option 1 number 4, describing the colors of the rainbow without using the name of the color itself. I know, I didn't do indigo, but that was too hard to do without confusing it with blue or violet.
Also, the title sounds too happy. Help?

Fantastic
I really like this one. My favorite part is..the last stanza "Sunset just before gold chariot descends, One of the morning glory flowers That climb you white trellis Blackberry juice that, if spilled Stains like the wine you drowned in Last night" Kept me reading it over and over. Great Job! good luck in the contest!
