Beauty

Beauty, a word so often used,
but what does it really mean?
where do we see it, how do you know it,
just wait and in time you'll see.

Beauty is a childs warmth,
A mothers joyful tear,
beauty is in knowing you're loved,
theres nothing to fear!

Beauty can't be captured,
it can't be forced or tricked,
only in silence you find it,
in solitude and peace.

The sunlight on the petals,
of a newly opened bud,
the pureness of untouched fresh snow,
yes, when you find it, you will know.

To find true beauty in this world,
is something truly rare,
so when you find it,
cherish it, and guard it with all care.

Do not be fooled by the cheap type,
the modern plastic "beauty",
unlike what the shops may say,
you can't sell bottled beauty.

Beauty lives inside us,
it's what we are and live,
Beauty can't be bought or sold,
beauty simply is.

    Hello.

I think this poem is good, but you can make it even better. The sentiments in this are spot on, totally agree with. Looking and loving within is how it should be in my opinion. Where I think your poem could be improved, and this is just my 2 cents so no offence is intended at all, is:

Stanza 6 the end rhyme of beauty, I would redo that.

At times the structure defined in your poem is compromised, so your rhythm is a bit loose. I would stick to a more rigid rhythm so when it is read it has a musical vibe to it, which at times it does, but it does lose it.

I mean no offence at all, and wish you well in the contest.

    My regards.
