I held you in my arms that day,
I had loved you long before this moment.
When I heard that you were coming,
I fell in love with you instantly.
You were the tiny bundle that brought me great joy.
The first month of your existence,
was nothing but pure loving bliss.
But then one very unpleasant day,
one mishap led to another and you were taken.
My heart has ached ever since,
but I still love you just the same.
Twice a week I get to see pictures,
of out little Elizabeth Lee.
If I could I'd change what happened,
so that your daddy could hold you everyday.
We miss you Lizzy.
Everything about you has been a surprise to us,
Grandma loves you Elizabeth.

This is very sad and touching at the same time.. I'm sorry that she had to go through with that. I personally cannot say I know how that feels, but I know that it is a painful experience. It's a gift to be able to write about such things and express the emotion that a writer feels. Great job,

A sad experience, and the poet has put herself in another's position to relate the story. The distance may allow the story to be told, but it doesn't tell much.
