The light is growing brighter
As my eyes begin open
To open my mouth though
And speak the truth
Is to remove a mask
To push away piles of lies
So in fear of being rejected
The lies continue
All wanting the same thing
All yearning for acceptance
My eyes flutter open
Curious face stare at me
I open my mouth cautiously
And begin to push away the lies
Reopening the wounds
That caused me to hold back
Blinking away tears
From the sight of your face
Telling myself it'll be okay
Breaking on the inside.

Such an emotional piece. I understand the need to lie, to hide behind the mask you create. Most people do it, because they are afraid. Afraid to get close to people, and then be pushed away. Nicely done, some people could probably relate to this. Keep on writing.
