. Grandma's Grave (revised)

My heart is aching

though years have past.

Looking at that stone

tears come falling fast.

You always loved flowers.

Here are some for you.

I miss you so much.

I don't know what to do.

Every year I visit

memories made recalled.

My heart sinks,

speech becomes drawled.

My only hope is

one day we'll meet again.

I come yearly to say

I miss you until then.

This was very hard to rewrite since it was so painful and personal

I never really had a grandma to speak of, it is so clear you cherished yours..it shines through in this heartfelt poem, beautifully penned.

I thought this was a great write for/about your grandmother, and I'm sure a lot of people could relate to it. Very pretty but sad. Thanks for entering

This is a very beautiful poem. I know the feeling of visiting a lost loved one. Your first one wasn't that bad. this revise really shored up some of the problems though. good luck!

Death is hard on those left behind. No matter how long we've had the person with us it's never easy to let them go.My grandmother will be 90 in a few weeks and I've almost lost her 4 times this summer. I know there must be a reason she's still around am I feel blessed for more time yet stay worried, wondering when? I am sorry for your loss.

The tears through the years will still flow
to water her flowers and grow, as strong
as your love, for the one up above
    the blessing you're addressing,
    tenderly touches my heart.

Thank you for sharing a part of you, Poet
