The chooks are laying lots of eggs,
Our duck is hatching hers
The dogs are barking their heads off
Our lawn is full of burrs
There's sprouting seeds in the potting shed
The roses are starting to shoot
I finished pruning the fruit trees
And busted out of my boots.
The wood pile is lower in August
Cold winds blowing so long
Spring waiting just round the corner
Comes with a happy song
Pains from arthritus will ease off
My fingers bend once more
Warm sunshine invites me outside
To enjoy the great outdoors.
Author notes

This is very good
Yes the seasons and how in my way of thinking it slows the population down a bit for imagine what we would do if it were beautiful and warm all the time .We would be dangerous

A wonderful poem with a bit of humour thrown in for good measure. Glad to hear you finally finsihed pruning the trees. A big job, but the fruit well worth it. I loved this poem so much. It sounds like you are reading to start planting very soon. This weather is not good for arthritis sufferers. I also suffer from it in my feet. (many years of working in water and such). I can't once again say anything to you to help improve this poem. There is absolutely no need, it is perfect now. Good going, Bob. P.s. I loved this so much that i think you deserve a gift.

I don't have arthritus but my neighbor down the road has. I have seed up all over the place and have to transplant quickly to avoid the shock that plants get when they are too big. I thank you for your very kind words. This was a 'throwaway poem' to start with but may well have a value.
