sending him away still meant
I loved him.
Author notes
'Kay, so this was a bit of a challenge. o o; I knew what I WANTED to say in the poem, but only doing it in thirteen words was the ticky part. I think I did pretty decent with it, however.
Uhm', yeah. Young parenthood. A good friend of mine a few years back had a baby boy when she was fiftee years old. Her family wouldn't allow her to keep him, so she had to give him up for adoption. It's sad, but a part of every day life, for so many people.
Anyway, hope you all enjoy it. =)

You have expressed so much in those 13 words, I did not need your authors notes as you penned the emotions and imagery clearly.
Very heart-touching!

Thank You & Best of Luck!

Thank you so very much for your comment.
It's a rather bad habit of mine to explain my poems in boring detail in the author's notes, I'm afraid.
In any event, I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as you did. ♥ Thank you for holding such a wonderful contest, and allowing my entry to make it to the finalists.

I am sure that it was very hard for your friend to give her child up for adoption but in the end I believe she did the right thing. A lot of people don't realize and often forget how painful it is for the mother.

It was rather hard for her, but I think she knows that it was probably the best thing for her son at the time.
She stills keeps in touch with him, so that's always a plus.
Thank you so very much for your comment.

You showed this beautifully, darling. It's ad when a mother wants so badly to keep her child, yet has said child ripped from her bosom anyway. It's a cruel world, and I am thankful that you were able to keep your little girl close. ♥ Lovely words, my darling.

I'm glad I was able to keep her, too. ♥ Not to mention the relief of behing able to HAVE her in general. Children are such a blessing, and I think far too many people take advantage of that.
Thank you for your kind words, love.

And I'm really happy you were able to have her. You deserved that so much. ♥
