memories drag the past
stranding us in present
many yester days can not be pulled
with greatest of forces,
leave them to fend itself.
churning pasts can not create new,
just as sunrise
new come of its own,
fresh and disjointed.
future push preset into past
set mind into realms of memory
masking present,
we see 'what is'
with great awareness in mind.
we are two pieces
devided by time,
what is now is unknown
unless as hope or memory.
Author notes
we stand between memory and hope not as 'what is' now

You took me into the secret place and told me the theory..and that is very true my friend...well done....

i would love to ask you a question!
what are the two pieces... i mean as separates, what would you call them?
you approached this from an angle unknown to me and would really like to learn of the philosophy behind it.
good luck in the contest!

Nice poem. There a certain quality of thinking behind it that I find most appealing. Reads like a charm!
