Somebody

I see them sitting there
and he holds her tight,
But I sit here lonely,
and cold tonight.
And then I start to wonder,
Could I ever find MY Mr. Right?

Everybody looks so happy
And I've never felt so alone.
I want somebody to love me,
but is that someone unknown?

My Prince Charming
Where have you been?
I have been waiting here quietly,
For my life to begin.

Why aren't you here?
I'm ready for you to sweep me away
And I can only wish
That you could be here some how, some way

(And) I need a special somebody.
Somebody who can hold me tight
Somebody who promises me forever
Somebody who'll be with me day and night
Somebody who says we'll always be together
Until the end of time
Are you out there Somebody? Please give me a sign!

I need somebody who can love me true
And I don't know if I can ever find that someone--
Someone who will love me too.

(And)What if my someone is searching for me?
And maybe he's having trouble too.
I'm so afraid of getting hurt
But if I don't risk it all will I ever find you?

Author notes

Please criticize. C:
This is one of the rare rhyming poems I write because I'm really not that good at them so please tell me what you think please! I could use all the help that I get. Oh! Inspired by the song "Be Be Your Love" by Rachael Yamagata
Thank you.

Please tell me what you think

Well, I honestly don't think there's much to criticize. Sorry!

The longing in this piece is so real... so painful. It reminded me of the same feeling I had a while back (a LONG while, lol ), where I wished that I, too, could have that strange happiness that so many other teenagers have.

But then I realized... that there was no point in just wishing it would happen. You can't dwell on it; it comes when you least expect, which makes it a nice surprise. Let that love come to YOU!

    Loved it, Tsuki. Keep writing!
