Strong

Its time to look toward tomorrow1

Instead of dwelling in my sorrow.2

I need to find a way to move on3

Though the pain will never be all gone.4

5

Its time6

I have to be bigger then my pain7

Stronger then last year.8

Its ok to be scared but not to live like this.9

Not ruled by my fear10

11

If I am so afraid to be hurt again that I lose faith in my true friends12

What happens when we are separated by schools, what happens then?13

My heart won’t heal today, the pieces will still be lost tomorrow14

15

But if I give up, they win.16

I can’t lose this battle, if I stop fighting17

Then I won’t know who I am.18

Because the broken girl, isn’t who I should be19

Starting now, how they hurt me doesn’t define me.20

If I don’t break down my barriers , I can’t ever heal.21

If I block out the world, it will still exist.22

If I still try to, there will be so much I miss. 23

My moment is now!24

The tears I once cried are the pain of one who is broken25

My grief pulled me from the ones who loved me26

Once, my sorrow didn’t define me27

One day I can choose not to be a puppet28

Today I choose to remember that I can be strong.29

I don’t get to ask the question “ for how long?”30

Yesterday was my story, 31

Tomorrow is I choose my destiny.32

And Today I believe I am strong.33

nice write with much emotion and a good flow. Im not sure about the presentation with the line numbers though. I think "how they hurt me doesn’t define me" was a very good line.
    Nice work,

    Michael

Love the message in your poem though I must say the numbers after the lines were distracting.
    I particularly liked this line:
Today I choose to remember that I can be strong
This could be a wonderful quote on its own. I can imagine it as a slogan or bumper sticker (I mean that as a compliment) because it makes a lasting impression. Thank you for your entry.
