Looking through sheer curtains,
a graceful scene appears.
Sweet soft instrumental music,
chimes soft within the wind.
Feeling my soul become peaceful.
Who's this woman calling
me into her world?
Conscience of simplicity,
a beautiful tenderness
waking her.
I touch upon a kindred spirit.
Thinking not to disturb this
peaceful wonderment, I stumbled against.
Without thought except wishes
turning to walk away...
One more glance perceiving,
this interlude of souls.
I smile,
now knowing...
The woman is me,
soothing abuse away in comfort.
This my own future serenity...

Sorry ..........
The picture kills al for me.......... I long not for this or that, but that picture evokes nothing but sadness for her.................

"this interlude of souls" what a great phrase. I am sorry but the contest rules specifically says, no trophy winners and this has a bronze which was won in September.

In this universe, we can be granted, in a moment of serendipity, a vision of what is to come. Your poem does a wonderful job of catching how alien this can be for us so we do not realize what we look upon. For the hardest job is to see ourselves.
It is a promise of what is possible when you don't give away your power. It is a result of coming to trust yourself and finding fear is often fashioned out of false expectations appearing real. Peace grows as we become able to believe the information that comes to us. We realize the negatives poured by others upon us are a reflection of their fears and inadequacys and have nothing to do with us. We become strong enough to not allow another to use us as a dumping ground for their anger and fear. In this serenity pours into our hearts and even as the ride of life continues to be a rollercoaster, a series of obstacles to be overcome, we are at peace. I know I can survive. I know I can create a life that takes care of me and those I love.

Thank you for your entry,

This is a beautiful poem of self examination and hope. In my opinion, it goes perfectly with the prompt.
Great job.
