Masochistic Beauty - I've Lost To Love.

Emotionless upon the tree stump, I reflect upon the memories that birthed the ache inside of me.
In silence, I trace my fingers over the void
That was once a heart - not a pounding fist of meat
With no riddle or rhyme.
In dire need of closure, death seems to sway itself
In forms of broken branches and fallen leaves.

Seems so long ago we smiled, full teeth blaring
Beneath a humid sun; we were brave then; in love.

At times I fear there is nothing but ecstacy
That keeps me focused here, in this moment of
Emotionless void.
I long for no feeling, no dream of moving towards
The future I am trying to restore.

Just slow motions before me now;
As I pop in another pill and listen to nature's voice
Tell me how masochistic beauty is --
"Astounding how far you've fallen,
So close to nothing, no human attributes accompany
The zombie you've embodied.
And I smile at you, because I am beauty,
And you have just lost
A game of love."

I've lost, she says,
I've lost.

Please tell me what you think
