What a take-off

As they sit in their seats
dreaming of the sunshine,
the plane's engines fire up,
the excitement of take-off
grips their stomachs firmly.

They wait for the g-force
to push them into their seats,
but something isn't right.

The plane starts to move,
the engines spin,
and they're off...

Before they get to the end,
the plane veers,
people look confused,
scared, angry, curious.

The plane's left engine
starts to gulp smoke,
black, oily smoke.
choking.

Screams start to be heard,
the plane tears,
people are littered, silenced.

Fire. The field burns,
only the flames can be heard,
and the quiet moans of survivors.

Sirens, flashing lights,
steam rises as water is dropped
onto the white-hot body
of the plane.

Many lives lost,
loved ones dead,
others mortally injured...

What a take-off.

This is chilling. It puts you on the plane as it's happening, like a horribly real movie. Well done!
