Slow and careless drive
over terrain familiar traveled
radio buzz, cold wind blows.
Road gets darker
a wrong turn, stray from the known.
Fear replaces familiar as the
radio message repeats
and repeats.
....GPS fails.....
Realization hits
visions of aliens and grinning mad men pulse
and there's blood on the moon
signs of doom squeeze a disbelieving heart
but the consumation of this terror
waits for another day
Author notes
This actually happened to me the other day, it was so bizzare!

This was a really good poem. I enjoyed reading it. and that actually happening to u is bizzare. Sometimes ppl take wrong turns and it leads them to a weird place but they find themselves out of the place. Good writeing though.

I liked this, a lot. Vivid and evocative description really makes this live in the head. I hate that feeling when you have no control over such things. Nicely structured, appropriate imagery and I liked the way it almost made me hold my breath. Thanks for sharing. Freaky!

Ms Sarah, a horror story, GPS-less. You're lucky to have survived. Imagine for a moment the phone failing as well, and the engine. Better to stay at home reading fine poetry I'm thinking. ---- I loved the mood of this, very clever. Thank you.

LOL Wattle! When it happened I thought it was just too much not to write down. Even while i was right there in the moment half of me was scared and the other half was thinking this is just too horror movie cliche NOT to write down!

Wow, very intense, the title totally hooked me. "Road gets darker/A wrong turn, strays from the known" sounds very frightening and grim. Good piece you have here, very unique.
