Eyes wide. Mouth shut.
Those are the rules. They go against gut feelings.
Then again they really don’t.
Seemingly, you know the truth, your gut tells you so.
Then, you shut the door in it’s face, telling it no.
Eyes wide. On the lookout for lies.
The truth is on the tip of your tongue but there are no sounds from your lips.
Only the twist in your hips as you walk away.
Their ignorance, once again, saves the day.
Do you anticipate their shock and shame of the truth?
Or does it make you squirm to think about it?
Will they judge you?
Will they cheat you?
Will they even care?
Eyes wide, mouth shut, don’t you dare talk too much or miss a beat.
Defeated without a 360 degree view,
But what about the ignorant one in right in front of you?
People are not suppose to judge you or make heart breaking assumptions about you.
